Giving Tuesday, which always falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, started in the US in 2012 as a way to give back and transform communities. Since its inception, this global generosity movement has inspired millions of people across the world to come together on the same day to support the charities and causes they care about.

This year, 100% of the funds raised from our Province’s Giving Tuesday efforts will support our Jamaican Mission. Yes, that is 100% going directly to the ministry!

Fr. Colin King, OFM, with Jamaican schoolchildren

Fr. Jim Bok, OFM, and Fr. Colin King, OFM, are doing incredible, livesaving work in Jamaica. Your gifts will:

• Help St. Anthony's Kitchen serve breakfast to 60 children before they head to school and provide 120 lunches to hungry people each day
• Help 160 children get to school each morning with the Get Kids to School program
• Support a growing clinic that provides basic health and dental care and prescriptions to people in the rural area of Revival
• Create a viable education for the children of Revival by building an infant school for 3- to 6-year-old children

For more information about any of these programs, please check out Stanthony.org/Jamaica or you can email us at friarworks@franciscan.org. Fr. Jim Bok and Fr. Colin King explain more about their vital work in this video.

To support our Giving Tuesday efforts, you can make a donation here on our website and choose “Giving Tuesday” in the drop-down menu.

We hope you will consider a gift for our Jamaican mission this Giving Tuesday. We promise to be good stewards of your gift.
