St. Anthony hears our cries

Chicken Livers and Raspberries
~

I slipped and fell on my kitchen floor because of some spilled grease from frying chicken livers. It happened in a flash. My wooden cane just whooshed out from under me and I flailed around but too late.

I hit my head on the radiator and threw out an arm trying to grab an appliance table on wheels. It slid and a lot of stuff flew off, including two St. Anthony votive candles (only one bounced off not breaking, the other simple tipped over.)

All I got was a lot of soreness, a jammed toe, and a raspberry on my forearm. I’m sure the candles helped.

St. Anthony watches us lose our balance, too. Subtly hears our “No” going down.
