Prayer that we will trust in God’s voice and promises, even when it is not convenient for us.

As we pray on this 8th day of the Novena to St. Clare, let us remember to renew, to recall, and to refresh that time we trusted God’s voice and His promises in our life. Hearing God’s voice is an inborn gift we received when we were in our mother’s womb. God’s intimacy and love sustained and nourished our growth in the world of our mother’s womb. In all stages of our life, we are so familiar and intimate with God that He has heard our every call. I reflected, is God familiar to us and do we wonder how to hear God’s voice in our life these days?

We live in a difficult world, so hearing God’s voice can be challenging. It becomes selective hearing. If we ever hear something, we doubt. Is it really God’s voice speaking to us? Let us not worry, for in that uncertainty is our deep calling to trust. Let us spend some time today to quiet, to pause, and to recall the many times we have heard God’s voice in our soul. Let us ask St. Clare to be with us in our silence and to guide us to listen to God’s voice, as she did deeply in her heart, and to reflect on how she responded to it.

Each of us is gifted with mystical experiences in our intimate relationship with God. We pray that God’s voice is heard in every experience and that we continue to trust His promises, even when it is not convenient to us. Let us keep trusting that, “God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have abundance for every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8)
